Jesse Miner (San Francisco, CA)

DJ Jesse Miner specializes in swinging jazz and blues music. For more than 10 years, Jesse has shared swinging sounds across the country, from competitions and camps on the east coast to nightclubs in his hometown of San Francisco and every hop spot in between. Jesse is thrilled to play swinging songs that keep the dance floor jumping. His relentless quest for music that is "in the pocket" means that every set Jesse plays is a joy for everyone dancing. As the host of Hey Mister Jesse, Yehoodi's monthly podcast about swinging music that matters to dancers, Jesse reaches beyond the dance floor. With an international audience of swing music lovers, Jesse interviews artists, unearths great tunes and inspires dancers to indulge their passion for music. If you haven't danced to Jesse's DJing already, each month you can find Jesse DJing at The 9:20 Special in San Francisco and LindyGroove in Los Angeles.

Ryan "Swifty" Swift (NY, NY)

Inspired by a burgeoning interest in Swing Era jazz, Ryan began swing dancing in 1998. He has since immersed himself in both Lindy Hop and jazz music, establishing himself as a well-regarded dancer and deejay.

As a deejay, Ryan has had the privilege of traveling across North America & back, making stops at numerous exchanges, dance camps, weekend workshops, and competitions. He has spun at national events such as ALHC, ULHS, the Rhythmic Arts Festival, Swing Out New Hampshire & the Basie Centennial Weekend. He has also served as a peer judge for competitions at the Harlem Jazz Dance Festival and the Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown.

For 9 years, he maintained a steady presence in the dance scene of his adopted hometown of sunny Rochester, NY through regular deejaying and as a founding member of the group Groove Juice Swing. He has recently relocated to the big city of New York, NY, bringing his love for Lindy Hop and its music along with him.

Ryan enjoys (and spins) a wide variety of swing, jazz & blues (yes, blues) - for a sample of music he may or not play at any given event, you can check out the set list from his guest spot on Yehoodi Radio in August '03. If you are looking for some dance-friendly recommendations to add to your own music collection, you may be interested in the list shared on this Yehoodi discussion.

Freddie Dickinson (Seattle, WA)

A rip-roaring harmony hound, Freddie is hot and anxious to play savage rhythms until all the cats join in. Spreadin' rhythm around night and day, Freddie knows how to get rhythm in your feet and music in your soul. He's brought lindy hoppers delight at every tub from Seattle to Herrang, playin' that old fashioned swing with the latest jada-jing. If he could be with you just one hour tonight, you'll be rockin' in rhythm till your naughty sweetie sends you viper mad.

George "Whitey" White (Austin, TX)

DJ Whitey has been DJing since 2002. He is based in Austin TX and has traveled to various exchanges, competitions and workshops. He specializes in high fidelity vintage jazz mostly from the swing era (30’s to early 40’s) but is not limited to that narrow band. He has an affinity for 20’s music, particularly of the Charleston variety but this is a guilty pleasure that may show up once or twice in his sets.
